FAIR QUESTIONS.
STRAIGHT ANSWERS.

01

What is Woof404?

Woof404 is a collection of 4,444 small ASCII-art dogs on Robinhood Chain. Each dog is an NFT whose picture is drawn by a contract from the token's own data, in four rarities, with a merge that turns four Commons into one Rare. The story behind it is about Patch, a dog who kept an error page company.

02

How does Woof404 work?

Two contracts do the work. The kennel holds the collection: it mints dogs during one public window, assigns rarities after the mint closes using a committed seed and a shuffle, and lets owners merge four Commons into a Rare. The sketchbook draws any dog as an SVG made of text when a wallet or marketplace asks for it.

03

Which network is Woof404 on?

Robinhood Chain, chain id 4663, with ETH for gas. The connect dialog on this site adds the network to your wallet if it is missing.

04

How do I buy $WOOF404?

You cannot yet. $WOOF404 has not launched and has no contract address. When it launches, the address will be published on the token page of this site and on @woof404site at the same time. Anything sold under the name before that is not ours.

05

Do I need the token to mint or merge a dog?

No. The kennel contract never reads $WOOF404. Minting is paid in ETH and merging only needs the four Commons in your wallet.

06

When is the mint, and what does it cost?

Not decided yet. The price, the per-wallet limit and the dates are fixed when the kennel is deployed and cannot change afterwards. The mint access page shows them as soon as they exist.

07

Is there an allowlist or a free mint?

Nothing like that has been decided. The contract has one public window with the same terms for everyone. If early access is ever added, its rules will be published on the mint access page before the mint opens.

08

How is rarity decided?

Before the first mint, the deployer commits the hash of a secret seed. Every mint mixes the minter and block into a running value. After the mint closes the seed is revealed and combined with that value, and a keyed shuffle orders all 4,444 ids: the first 4 positions are Legendary, the next 40 Epic, the next 400 Rare, the rest Common. If the seed is not revealed within seven days, anyone can finish the reveal without it.

09

How does the merge work?

You choose four Common dogs you hold and sign one transaction. The kennel burns all four and mints you one new Rare that records the four burned ids as its parents. Only Commons can be merged, only by their owner, and only after the reveal. A merge cannot be undone.

10

Why does the site say 4,444 and then a smaller number?

4,444 is the genesis supply. Every merge lowers the total by three. If all 4,000 Commons were merged, the kennel would hold 1,444 dogs. That is the lowest the merge alone can take it, not a prediction.

11

What is the pack?

Only an idea: a name for extras a dog might carry one day. It is not in any contract and holds nothing. Dogs come with no promised rewards, values, allocations or redemption of any kind.

12

Where are the pictures stored?

Nowhere off chain. Ask the kennel for a dog's tokenURI and the sketchbook contract writes the metadata and the SVG picture in the answer. This site draws previews with the same rules, checked by tests against the contract output.

13

Who can change the contracts?

Nobody. Neither contract has an owner, an admin, a pause switch or a setter, and neither can be upgraded. Mint payments can only go to the payout address fixed at deployment.

14

Is a dog an investment?

No. It is a drawing on a chain with a story attached. It carries no promise of rewards, income or resale value, and its price, if it has one, can fall to nothing.
